I took a screenshot of my Sylvari, then used it as a reference for the drawing. It was drawn in Photoshop CS5, with my trusty Intuos 4 tablet :3 I did the base sketch on my iPad actually, with the Sketch Club app. Then I transferred it to my PC and did the majority of the work in PS
I love this (and the original). I know you created him as a Elementalist, but like someone below mentioned he does look very Nightmare court. I think this character design would lend itself really well to a Necromancer... he's very cool, and you did an incredible rendition.
Thank you for the nice words! ^_^ Yes, the intention was for him to look like some sort of high ranking member of the Nightmare Court The only reason why he is not a Necromancer is that my other main is a Human Necro, carried over from GW1. She was the first ever character I created in GW1, and she was my one and only main.
I didn't want to play through the game twice with the same profession, so he became an Elementalist, my second most-wanted-to-play profession
I have some great image designs in mind for him, demonstrating just how dark being an Elementalist can look
You can't. Anet said that while you can have some "darker traits", your character is meant to be a hero. For example, the way how you interact/speak with NPCs, you can be all noble, charismatic or even a plain a$$h*le. This will evolve with time and depending on how much interactions you do through out the world. You can be even be barbaric. But in the end, you will still fight the dragons and protect Tyria.
You can't join the Sons of Svanir, Nightmare Court, Inquest, etc. What can happen is that you might join them up in some DE but more with the intent of spying on their doings than actually be one of them.
